Department Profile

It is matter of great pleasure that the department of Tamil got started in the year 1996. The under graduate course was started in the year 2016. The Department is on 10 faculty members and 6 members have complete Doctorates and rest of faculties on the go. The department is growing up with 140 students as of now. The department of Tamil focuses on not only Literature students but also towards entire strength to develop their language skills and personality development skills by conducting various seminars, symposiums, conferences and cultural.

Objectives

To improve students reading habit apart from prescribed syllabus. To arrange a rapport with popular Tamil authors.

Goals

To enlighten the students about the significance of ancient and modern Tamil Literature, to encourage students to surpass their ability and ethics.

Develop communication skills along with creative thinking and personality development.
Emerge positive attitude along with humanistic approach to the modern ever changing environment.

Mission

Developing Innovating skills, traditional values, moral values and to develop their personality with effective teaching methods. Tamil department also encloses Chinthanai Mandram and Tamil Illakiya Mandram which puts in extraordinary effort to develop a healthy human resource for the society.
