About the Department
Department of Psychology was established in the year of 2023. The department offers undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Science) in Psychology, and is intended to give basic and broad knowledge about mental health and well-being, and also to provide with various career opportunities in the field of Psychology, to rural women folk.The Department of Psychology is functioning efficiently enabled with an excellent team of teaching faculties, and has well equipped state of the art laboratory with sophisticated equipment and Test materials.The course content consists of various theory and practical papers. The theory papers cover the basic knowledge in the various areas in psychology, while the practical papers offer the basics of Psychological testing and assessment with the training in report writing.

Objective
- Promoting students to acquire and demonstrate knowledge and skills relevant to the theory and practical/ experimental Psychology.
- Developing a knowledge base of human behavior across the broad areas of Psychology.
- Become aware of the applications of psychology in the professions associated with it.
- To promote good mental health of the students in order to face the demands of the outside world.
- To mould the students with good academic record in addition to sufficient soft skills and make them highly qualified mental health professionals in the global environment.
- To create a human force to serve the society as well as themselves in dealing with mental health concerns to promote overall well-being.

- Demonstrate knowledge of the major theoretical approaches and findings in psychology.
- Know the research methods used in psychology; apply their knowledge in conducting and reporting their research works.Critically assess information related to the study of behavior and mental processes, and use the critical assessment in forming conclusions and arguments based on empirical evidences.
- Develop tolerance for ambiguity and opinions that differ from their own, and develop basic understanding on human behavior and thinking processes.
